Company Kevin Hursh is a Professional Agrologist (PAg) and Certified Agricultural Consultant (CAC). Based out of Saskatoon, Kevin and his wife Marlene operate Hursh Consulting & Communications Inc. They specialize in agricultural communications including media releases, communication strategies, research reports and corporate videos. Kevin and Marlene manage Crop Production Week and the Saskatchewan Outstanding Young Farmers program. As well, Kevin serves as executive director for the Saskatchewan Mustard Development Commission and the Canaryseed Development Commission of Saskatchewan. Each year, Kevin is a guest speaker at scores of agricultural conferences and conventions.Journalism Kevin Hursh is a freelance journalist writing for a number of newspapers and magazines. His weekly opinion column is widely read in Saskatchewan and widely quoted across the country. It is published in the Saskatoon StarPhoenix and Regina LeaderPost, as well as many rural papers. Hursh is also the Editor for AgriSuccess Journal, a bi-monthly farm management magazine published by Farm Credit Canada. Broadcasting and Internet Kevin Hursh provides a daily agricultural commentary for radio stations in Swift Current (CKSW), Shaunavon (CJSN) Moose Jaw (CHAB), Estevan (CJSL), Weyburn (CFSL), Rosetown/Kindersley (1330/1210), North Battleford (CJNB) and Melfort (CK750). In 2008, his crops included kabuli chickpeas, small green lentils, canaryseed, malting barley and high erucic acid rapeseed. Kevin and Marlene have three boys - Aaron, Nathan and Braden.History Kevin Hursh graduated with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan's College of Agriculture in 1980. Before beginning his own company with Marlene, he was employed as Agriculture News Director for the BBS Saskatchewan Television Network (now CTV). This included stations in Saskatoon, Regina, Yorkton and Prince Albert. |
